Our programmes are designed as a clear, structured journey into employment, supporting learners over up to three years depending on individual readiness. There are no academic entry requirements – we focus on potential, ambition and motivation to work, not exam results.
We are one of a few specialist colleges offering a five-day-a-week programme, because the world of work operates over five days – and preparing learners for adult life means reflecting that reality.
Learners follow one of two programmes:
Some learners progress into paid employment sooner, while others benefit from the full journey.
Our employability curriculum is carefully structured to build knowledge over time, ensuring learners understand the full employment journey – before, during and beyond work.
Learning is delivered across three progressive stages, each increasing in depth and independence.

Each stage covers five core areas:
This approach ensures learners are equipped not only to gain a job but to sustain and adapt their employment pathways throughout adult life.

We know that most learners develop confidence and understanding by doing. That's why real-world experience is embedded throughout every programme.
Learners progress through a range of experiences depending on readiness and outcomes:
Level 1 - Enterprise
All learners take part in enterprise activities, learning how businesses operate through manufacturing, retail or service projects. This introduces concepts such as cost, profit, teamwork and reinvestment.
Level 2 - ‘A Day in the Life of...’
Learners explore different industries through short workplace visits and shadowing opportunities, helping them understand roles and expectations before accessing formal work experience.
Level 3 - Short Term Work Experience
Learners take part in structured, supported work placements to put learning into practice and build confidence in real workplaces.
Level 4 - Extended Work Experience
Once ready, learners access extended placements for up to three days per week over a sustained period. This provides depth, routine and meaningful skill development.

Level 5 - Supported Internships
A full-time, workplace-based programme for learners ready to move directly into paid employment. Formal learning will be delivered on site by the Job Coach.
