    When the partnership between Creating Tomorrow College and Iron Mountain first began at our Lutterworth Campus, no one could have predicted just how quickly it would start shaping the culture of a global organisation. And at the heart of this transformation is Alice Mullan – Training and Onboarding Manager, workplace champion, and a dedicated Iron Mountain colleague of 19 years.

    Finding Confidence and Independence: Tyrone’s Journey to Supported Internship

    When Tyrone joined our Kettering Campus, he was ready for a fresh start. After spending his school years across specialist and mainstream settings, he knew what it felt like to be supported – and what it felt like not to be. His experience in mainstream school had been challenging, with bullying and setbacks that affected his confidence. But arriving at college marked a turning point.

    For two years, Tyrone embraced college life, made new friends, and discovered a place where he felt respected and treated like an adult. By his second year, he felt ready for something more – eager to step out of the classroom and into the world of work.

    From Setbacks to Success: Charlie Finds His Place at GXO

    When Charlie left school, he thought he had his future mapped out.  With a job lined up, he was ready to step straight into work. But when that placement unexpectedly broke down over the summer, Charlie found himself without a job or college course to go to. His confidence took a knock, and when he joined our Wellingborough Campus in September 2021 – confirmed only at the last minute – he knew he needed support to get back on track.

    From Engines to Employment at Cummins: Joshua’s Journey

    When Joshua joined Creating Tomorrow College in September 2023, he already knew where his passion lay. Fascinated by engines and determined to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, he arrived with a clear goal, but also an understanding that he would need guidance and support to get there.

    His journey began by creating a Vocational Profile, setting out his ambitions, strengths, and the support he needed. This profile helped his job coaches match him with the right opportunities, ensuring every placement moved him closer to his dream.
